The elephant that has the power to uproot a tree believes that it cannot free itself from the rope that it's gotten tied into by its trainer. This is because of the conditioning of its subconscious mind it got into as a baby, at which time it had less strength and failed to free itself from the shackles of the rope. Similarly, our past habits are also conditioning our subconscious mind on what we are capable of doing. To make progress in our lives and accomplish things we endeavor to do, we need to change our habits to get over the conditioning we have imposed on us, for which we need consistent practice.
