Reprogramming The Subconscious Mind Part 1 Yahoo! Lecture By Swami Mukundananda
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
The kind of thoughts we harbor affects our actions and ultimately shapes our personality and our destiny. Therefore it is imperative that we empower ourselves to control our thoughts for the best possible future. The key lies in our ability to control the subconscious mind. Swami Mukundananda's lecture was delivered at Yahoo! headquarters in Sunnyvale on reprogramming the subconscious mind. Swamiji begins by explaining that thoughts have the ability to increase our blood pressure or lowering it. Thoughts can make our hearts beat faster or slower. They can make us stay awake all night or sleep peacefully. As Lord Buddha said, "I have been harmed, I have been robbed, I have been cheated, I have been deceived" - misery never ceases for those who harbor such thoughts; on the other hand misery completely ceases for those who stop harboring such thoughts! Thoughts can lead us to success or can lead us to failure. Those who learned how to choose their thoughts properly became successful in their lives. If we can also learn this art - it can lead us to happiness, prosperity, and well-being. The mind is the factory that generates these thoughts. It is also the garden that harbors these thoughts. The Bhagavad Gita says - uplift yourself by the power of your mind - for the mind has the capacity to become your best friend and it can also be your worst enemy. The thoughts generated by the mind lead to images; images lead to emotions. Emotions lead to further thoughts which lead to more emotions. This entire chain can lift us upwards or it can make our mind into a toxic waste. That is why, sometime or other in our journey of life - we realize that for success, prosperity and fulfillment - we will need to learn the art of how to manage our mind. When we seriously learn to apply our self to it - we learn that mind has two aspects - one is the conscious mind; another is the subconscious aspect. Many of the sentiments, phobias etc. arise from the subconscious mind. Phobias like claustrophobia may also be coming from the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has the ability to control our bodily processes for our benefit or harm. Some scientists have claimed that the subconscious mind works at 40,000 times the speed of the conscious mind. While the conscious mind is responsible for reason, logic, and thoughts; the subconscious is responsible for instincts, inspiration, attitude, fears, phobias and bodily processes. Those who realize it, understand that the subconscious can make us sick and the subconscious could also lead us. If somebody repeatedly thinks a particular thought, the subconscious does not logic it out, it just follows orders. This lecture series is a MUST LISTEN where Swami Ji explained several aspects of reprogramming the subconscious mind with real-life examples and practical techniques.

This attachment leads to desire. How to channelize our desire in the right direction? Repeated contemplation of happiness in the objects of the world leads to worldly attachments. Art of Mind Management Part 7 - Swami Mukundananda - Desire is the mother of greed & anger Get "Art of Mind Management" DVD at: https://www.jkyog.org/store/ In this lecture Swamiji illustrates powerful analysis of the mind given by the Vedas. How the afflictions of the mind trouble us. What are the afflictions of the mind? The afflictions of the mind is anger, greed, desire and hatred. Vedas say these are manas rog or disease of the mind. Anger, greed and desire is a disease of the mind, motivated by greed people go on hoarding when they know they are going to leave everything behind after death. No matter how much we earn and hoard it is never enough to satisfy the greed. At the end it is only two yards of land that is used to bury and all that you earn, leave behind. Swamiji narrates with beautiful examples the disastrous consequence of anger and greed. ‘Duniya me khoob kamaya kya hira kya moti, par kya karu yaaro kafan me jeb nahi hoti’ But bigger than greed is desire because desire is the root cause of greed and anger. Fullfilment of desire leads to greed and non fulfillment of desire leads to anger. Desire can be in multitude form in terms of material comfort, emotional comfort or in terms of prestige and status. Any obstruction in the fulfillment of desire ignites anger. Anger has its seed in the non fulfillment of desire. These mental afflictions trouble our us more than the physical afflictions and many a times causes ‘Vyadhi’ or disease. How to overcome the disease of the mind? Listen to the full series for solutions.
