People's minds get addicted to something because they contemplate happiness there. But when that happiness is short-lived and temporary, they indulge in it more, leading to a downward spiral and causing the mind to get more attached to it, resulting in negative emotions and dissatisfaction. However, it's easy to break addictions and negative thought patterns of the mind once we understand the root cause of it. Listen to learn as Swami Mukundananda explains it in detail in the 11th episode of the Power of Thoughts series.

The ultimate purpose of our life is to develop a love for God. All the scriptures, like the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatham, etc., emphasize the same. However, the Vedas also prescribe many rituals for different occasions (for example, chant this mantra, do this yajna, etc.). Sometimes people focus too much on Vedic practices that they forget their purpose, which creates confusion as well - Should I focus on rituals or love God? Listen to learn as Swami Mukundananda gives a decisive answer to the above question by relating a powerful story from Krishna Leela.

God has infinite powers (or shaktis). However, there is only one fundamental aspect of God where He manifests all His infinite powers. The Vedas say that although the formless (or Impersonal) Brahm has all the powers of God, none of His powers are manifest in Brahm except Sat-Chit-Ananda. 'Grace' is also one of His power. Since Brahm doesn't manifest the powers of God, that means He won't grace us. If we want God's grace, we need to understand that aspect of God where He manifests all His powers. here is one formless aspect of God who is all-pervading. This aspect of God is known as 'Brahm' in the Vedic Scriptures. In this audio, Swami Mukundananda is now explaining the second aspect of God who resides in the heart of all living beings. He is known as 'Paramatma' or Supreme Soul in the Vedic Scriptures. What is 'Paramatma' like? What is His purpose? Swamiji also provides answers to the following questions: 1. Is Paramatma (Supreme Soul) formless or has personal form? 2. What are the Characteristics of the Supreme Soul? 3. How is Paramatma different from Shri Krishna? 4. What is the relation between Vishnu and Shri Krishna? 5. Why is Shri Krishna known as Avatari?
